PALEMBANG – In the midst of increasingly difficult economic conditions and increasingly high staple foods, some residents, especially those who are less fortunate, have difficulty meeting their daily needs. This condition has prompted Rumah Zakat to initiate a Food Alms Program to ease the burden on people in need.
This time, Rumah Zakat Volunteers had the opportunity to distribute Food Alms at Lr. Sehat 13 Ulu, Seberang Ulu II District, Palembang City, South Sumatra, Sunday (05/26/24). A total of 10 Food Alms Packages in the form of 2.5 kg of rice and 60 Superqurban Corned Beef were distributed to local residents who mostly work as casual laborers and the elderly.
One of them is Rohima (62 years old), an elderly person who lives with her child and daughter-in-law. She also suffers from a perennial illness so that Rohima cannot move and can only sit in bed.
“Alhamdulillah, I would like to say thank you very much to the children and Rumah Zakat for the rice and corned beef that have been given to us, we feel very helped and can meet our food needs. May the blessings and abundant sustenance of the children and also Rumah Zakat be.” Said Rohima.
