وَوَصَّيْنَا
الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ إِحْسَانًا ۖ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ كُرْهًا وَوَضَعَتْهُ
كُرْهًا ۖ وَحَمْلُهُ وَفِصَالُهُ ثَلَاثُونَ شَهْرًا ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا بَلَغَ
أَشُدَّهُ وَبَلَغَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ
نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ
صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ
وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
“And We commanded man (to do good) to his parents and parents. His mother had conceived him in a state of increasing weakness, and weaned him in two years. Give thanks to Me and to your two parents, to Me alone is your return.”
Therefore, giving Sadaqah to parents is part of respect and devotion to them. When we give Sadaqah to parents, we are not only helping them financially, but also giving them a sense of being appreciated, loved, and respected.
The Virtue of Giving Sadaqah to Parents
In Islamic teachings, giving Sadaqah to parents is considered one of the most important practices. Rasulullah SAW said, “No servant increases his prayers for his parents, unless Allah will open countless doors of mercy for him.” (HR. Muslim).
Giving Sadaqah to parents is one way to get blessings and mercy from Allah SWT. Apart from that, giving Sadaqah to parents is also a form of carrying out Allah SWT’s command to do good to parents.
